Six riders from the U23 team will spend a week in La Lastrilla to prepare for the Giro in the Sistema Central

Segovia´s Stage
From the 18th to the 24th of May

Marcel Camprubí, Ramón Fernández, Andrea Montoli, Francisco Muñoz, Davide Piganzoli, Fernando Tercero are the six cyclists who will face between this Wednesday and next Tuesday a concentration in La Lastrilla, near Segovia, to prepare several of the next objectives of the blue structure, with the Giro d’Italia U23 at the forefront.

The team repeats the planning of 2021, when it already undertook a similar concentration, then with the base of operations in the town of La Granja de San Ildefonso, to work intensively on some of the great passes of the Central System, such as the Puerto de Navafría, the Puerto de Cotos or the historic Puerto de Navacerrada.

During these seven days the runners will face different training sessions, with long-distance sessions and outings in which the programme includes series and batches of specific work. These six riders will be part of a first pre-selection, not definitive, to participate in the next edition of the corsa rosa of the category.

The EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U23 led by Rafa Díaz Justo and Dario Andriotto is one of the 17 foreign teams that have received one of the highly coveted invitations to take part in the great stage race of the category, where 35 teams, each composed of five riders, will take part. The 2022 edition will take place between 11 and 18 June on a route with two days of extremely demanding orography.
