Vicente Hernaiz
Biography
The cyclist from Valladolid entered the world of cycling almost by chance, as the father of one of his best friends was a cyclist. His friend joined a cycling school and encouraged him to do so as well. “Honestly, what I like most is to enjoy cycling. My dream of becoming a professional is relatively recent, I had never really thought about it. There were always those ‘but would I do? I convinced myself this year (2019) by taking part in very good competitions in Legazpi, at the Macario and the Tour of Bidasoa. In the Spanish Cup I was very good and at Bidasoa I saw myself fighting at the front, in a very hard race with a very high level and riding there among the 15 in front; even if I lost my chances in the same fall where Alejandro Ropero also went to the ground as leader. After those races I really thought that yes, I can be a professional one day”, he explains. Hernaiz, who stopped after two years of studying Mechanical Engineering that he intends to take up again one day, is a great lover of the graphic design world, where he has made his first steps.
