David Martín

Age 21
Height (cm) 177
Weight (kg) 68

He lives in Mairena de Aljarafe, but in terms of cycling, the nearby town of La Puebla del Río also carries a lot of weight in his life. There, one of his uncles owns a shop, Bicicletas Palma, and he also runs a small mountain bike club where he did his first pedaling. In the mountain bike he stood out very soon. In 2015, as a cadet, he would conquer the Spanish Open and win the silver medal at the National Championships. He then made the leap to the road, which he focused on especially after his arrival at Team Extremadura with a view to 2018. Martín, at the antipode of his cycling origins, has been polishing himself as a very fast runner. And disciplined, as he has alternated competition with his work as a mechanic in a shop in Bormujos. “I’d love to race the Paris-Roubaix one day. And of course win it. It would be a dream come true,” he says.
