Although born in Granada, he lives in the neighbouring town of Otura, south of the Nasrid capital. He has a sister three years younger, Ana María, who has also run on a bicycle. As a child he played futsal until he discovered that his true vocation was cycling, a hobby that he gets thanks to his father, José. He gave his first pedals at the age of 7 in the Escuela Ciclista de Churriana de la Vega. Alejandro is an all-terrain runner, a good climber and fast in small groups. He arrived at the Alberto Contador Foundation in his second year as a junior, coming from Fenavin. In 2016 he won the race of La Canonja, scoring for the Spanish Cup, where he finished third overall. He began studies in Biology, although at the moment he has them stopped to focus on the bicycle.
