Debut on a prestigious comeback

With the great work of the Promesal Cycling School behind it, the Vuelta Ciclista a Salamanca returns to the roads this week after a six-year silence. A return from August, close to its traditional dates in September, and a few days before the Tour of Spain visits the provincial soil to face two stages.

The castillian race returns with a varied route, which offers options for all runner profiles. And with a great participation that, as far as the Polartec-Kometa is concerned, has the Italian Daniele Cantoni, the Portuguese Daniel Viegas and the Spaniards José Antonio García, Carlos García, Jorge Pastor and, after his excellent participation with the continental team in the recent Vuelta a Burgos, Alejandro Ropero. A powerful squad, very capable for the mountain, but also for the plain. A block, in short, that will seek to be the protagonist.

“I’m coming at a good time and I think I’ll go further with the stages. I hope to have a good career, helping my team-mates, and make the most of any personal opportunities that may come my way,” says Daniele Cantoni.

For José Antonio García, for his part: “We are looking forward to a good general on this lap and, personally, to see if we can fight a couple of stages that we have there pending. The prologue can be good for us. And then we go with the idea of lending a hand to the general public, such as Jorge Pastor or Carlos García. That’s the main idea, to help, and then if we can get into a one-stage fight, we’ll certainly be fighting for it”.

23 August: Saucelle – Saucelle (4.8 km CRI).
24th August: Sardón de los Frailes – Retortillo (148 km).
25 August: Ledrada – Guijuelo (150 km).
26th August: Santa Marta de Tormes – Salamanca (115 km).
