The Specialized-Alberto Contador Foundation will ride for second time the Tour de Bretagne

The Specialized-Alberto Contador Foundation team will take the start from Thursday April 25 at the Tour de Bretagne, one of the toughest races in the amateur world calendar and which will run for a second year as sole Spanish representative.

“This year we have some different expectations, we want to be protagonists of the race”, said team director Rafa Diaz Justo, who will present a roster mixing of experience and youth. “We have three riders of third year, Pello Olaberria, David Casillas and Diego Noriega, who already know the race and come with one more year of experience. And beside them are three young and fast riders who hope will adapt well to this type of stages, such as Kenny Molly, Miguel Angel Alcaide and Miguel Angel Ballesteros”.

“We arrived in good form after riding the Circuit of Ardennes, also in France, which will help us to better adapt to the race”, continues Diaz Justo. “This year’s race is somewhat tougher, more mountainous, which I think can help a little, but we also have some fast riders, like Alcaide, with which we aspire to go into a sprint and seize his chance. Winning a stage would be a dream”.

But more important for the team that will race in Britain from Thursday, is, as Rafa Diaz Justo said, the accumulated experience. “Those who did this race last year experienced a big change as cyclists and hopefully that will happen again. The Tour de Bretagne is the number one race to learn how to run as a professional and in a climate as hard as northern France”.

The Tour de Bretagne 2015 will run from April 25 to May 1 on seven stages. The squad will comprise 24 teams of 6 riders, selected among some the best of Procontinental, Continental and U23 categories.
